1987   Founded Payan Pool Service, later incorporated 
     in 2004.

1989  Joined IPSSA (Independent Pool and Spa Service
              Association).

1997  Became a California Licensed Contractor.

1998  Passed the IPSSA Water Chemistry
             Certification Exam.

2000  Became a Certified Pool Operator (CPO).

2000   Javier Payan instructed a class in Tijuana , Mexico on pool chemistry and pool repairs. 
   This class was given entirely in Spanish.

2002  Awarded the IPSSA, Region 7 Pool Technician of the Year.

As a member of the San Diego Metro Chapter, Javier has served as Rebate Chairman, Secretary,
    and Chapter President.

2004  Joined the Better Business Bureau.

2004-2007 Javier Payan served as the San Diego County Regional Director for IPSSA (Independent
                     Pool and Spa Service   Association).   In this capacity, Javier was the Safety and Public
                     Relations Chair, Corporate Secretary in 2007, and served on the Education Committee. 

2006   Participated in the Editing the Spanish Version of the CPO Handbook.

2007   Produced Pool Safety Videos for IPSSA, Participated in media events spot-lighting pool
     safety on ABC, CBS, Fox News, KUSI, and WB local affiliates. 

2007  Instructor for SCP San Diego’s Seminar Series on Pool Water Chemistry

2007  Selected to the Advisory Board for the National Drowning Prevention Alliance .

2008  Presenter at the Texas Pool and Spa Show.

2008   Awarded the “Community Lifesaver Award” from the National Drowning Prevention Alliance .
